Yoga is the stilling of the changing states of the mind
A modern misconception in the West is that Yoga is about flexibility, a 45minute stretching session. You hear often people stating that they haven’t been doing yoga in a while. In truth, yoga never leaves you, you always carry yoga with you, if you consciously choose to.
Yoga is a holistic practice that aims to connect us with our truest selves. When we make space for our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, we are able to live life more balanced as we are taking care of ourselves as a whole. Our bodies don’t work efficiently without a clear mind, and our curious minds can’t travel or experience certain things with a broken body. The joy of living is blurred without believing in the good of others and ourselves.
As you can see from the diagram above, the Western yoga practice have simplified during time drastically, leaving the true benefits of yoga unattained. We strive to offer our customers the chance to learn from the authentic teachers who have spend decades mastering the practice. We also want to emphasis that the aim of the practice really isn’t flexibility.
